Question: What happened during those “hidden years”? Were You already performing miracles during that time?

God’s answer:

Figure 1: Jesus, as a carpenter, holding a table leg and mallet. At the bottom is an unfinished table with three legs.

Figure 2: A picture of The Holy Spirit descending from Heaven to earth (Jesus Baptism)
I lived among you day by day –
until I came into the picture.

Meaning: Jesus was a carpenter up until the time of His baptism, when the Holy Spirit descended on Him.

Question: Why did You wait until You were thirty before You started Your public life?

God’s answer:

Loaf of bread with the name of Jesus (JHS)

I was fit to make the sacrifice.

Meaning: He had to come of age. In the Hebrew tradition, the oldest son originally served as a priest (Kohen) of the family. In Numbers 4:1-3, the age set by God for religious service was 30 -50. One of the roles of the priest (Kohen) is to offer sacrifices.

Question: When you said I was fit to make the sacrifice, is my understanding that you had to meet the age requirement to be a Kohen, correct?

God’s answer:

I was old enough
